Install the drive cog onto the out drive (make sure it seated on the out drive fully) and tighten the set screw firmly (Locktite recommended at this location).

Liberally grease the groove on the dig out drive with standard lithium grease, wheel bearing grease or similar. Lightly grease the teeth on the drive cog, the teeth on the dig out drive and both brass pins. It is not recommended to grease the dig out drive shaft or the shift fork pin as they pass through self lubricating nylon bushings.

Slide the shift fork into the groove on the dig out drive with the shaft on the shift fork facing the same way as the as the dig out drive shaft and slide them into their respective nylon bushings in the case.

Place the dig unit onto the transmission and press firmly to ensure it is seated well against the transmission case. Use one of the existing motor plate bolts as the new case bolt with the existing nut as seen in the first picture below. Then use the two 3mm bolts provided in the kit to go through the dig case and into the motor plate using the original standoffs. Use the original bolt to through the transmission case and into the motor plate using the original standoff.

At this point if you have not already done so attach the servo mount to the dig case using the short 3mm bolts provided in the kit (Locktite recommended at this location), afterward bolt the servo to the servo mount using the short 3mm bolts included in the kit. Next slide the collar provided in the kit over the shift fork shaft then insert and tighten the long set screw very firm (Locktite recommended at this location). The collar should have less than 1/16th of the shift fork shaft protruding from it, and should be clocked to a similar position as indicated in the picture below.

Below is an example of a recommended link edge setup, you can vary from this recommended setup but understand that this is a very important step and can affect the units performance greatly.
Use the servo horn below provided with the Hitec HS 225MG servo. Open up the most inboard servo hole with a .115 drill or similar. Trim excess servo horn material if desired.

Insert 4-40 cap screw through the back of the servo horn, slide link edge over screw and tighten 4-40 locknut. Power up servo on the receiver channel you intend to use and center your position and trim. Install servo horn facing straight down as shown in picture. Install nylon spacer and link edge included in kit onto the long set screw and tighten down 4-40 locknut provided in kit. You should now adjust the length of the link edge so that your dig unit is in freewheel mode, this will give you a good starting point to set your 3rd channel trim and endpoints.
